Fall with White!

Pumpkins haven't really made it to the market yet but
this morning I had a run to the pharmacy and they had all fall decor at 50% off so I snatch a few pumpkins and gourds. Its was time to finally try what I have been wanting to do for so long...

Paint a few pumpkins and gourds in white.

How to: I tried the acrylic but that did not work. Not a great cover at all. So I decided to mix some chalk paint and found that laying it on thick was actually working. Paint was thick and lumpy too but I was enjoying the results. It took three coats, but I'm cheap and I was determined to make them work and finally got them right!!

Brushed the stems with a little antique medium and when they were good and dry I was excited to bring them in an play... I love they way they turned out.

Notice how the paint left a lumpy texture on my pumpkins which made them even more unique and pretty!!

I am loving the mix of white textures from laces and linen with the neutrals.

And there you have it!
What do you think? You'll give this a try?

Con amore,
Sonia

Love that project Sonia, I will try! Thanks. Looks beautiful and I love white for Fall!~ I really like white for all the seasons! I just mix it with more natural elements like you did with the burlap and the pinecones :)

We only get the orange pumpkins in the shops here in the U.K so I did this with mine last year.. The results were fantastic and they looked so much better in my displays.. You are right about the acrylic paint so will try mixing with chalk paint this time.. Thanx for the tip.. Angi
