Welcome to Creating Vintage Charm ~ Now let's party!!!

First off, what does Vintage really reminds me of? It reminds my of my home country in my childhood years. The life we had back then, the way my family decorated their home. They way everyone dressed. Mind you I am in my 30's but you wouldn't believe the leap from being raised on an island in the 70's, early 80's to now being in the US. Back then Malta's commerce was highly taxed. Agriculture and local factories produced food and some furniture. Women were VERY crafty. My mom sewed ever piece of clothing we wore and curtains. So did Nanna and all my aunts. (Lots of inspiration there for me) My other Nanna, was into crochet lace. She did doily's and runners and table cloths. Crafts classes were mandatory since high schools there to this day separate girls from boys into different schools. So we get to learn sewing and crochet, cooking (didn't pay much attention in this class I think...tehee)

My mom adorned our home with Rococo and Baroque Era paintings and pieces.
Pinky and Blue boy of course.
The swing by Fragonard

I could look at these paintings for hours, looking at the details.
She had a lot of the pretty vases with flourescent paint and romantic couples.

She gave me a set of plates, last time I went to visit. They used to hang in the hall way in her home, and coming back to the US I felt like I was bringing a piece of home with me.

When I gave birth to my first child, she passed on to me, these lovely old baby gowns that I used to wear when I was a baby. The receiving blanket, in white linen, embroidery and lace. I love them!!!

The altered book shows a picture of my Nanna when she was a little girl (sitting on the chair) My great Nanna is wearing her Victorian gown.

I thank you all for celebrating with me the launch of my new magazine, Creating Vintage Charm. I also want to thank everyone who contributed whole heartedly for my new venture. Thank you for your time and for your faith in me. In return you will get a magazine full of your beautiful creations, share with you the lot of talented, beautiful people out there and hoping to inspire many others to create too.

Please make sure to visit other blogs who are joining me in my celebration and read about their work and inspirations.

Tomorrow I will announce the participating winners for the two free copies of the magazine!! The printed magazine is available to purchase online (only) and it will be shipped out to you. You can purchase here.

Enjoy visiting with us!!

Dearest Sonia,

Vintage is the antidote to all things 'made in China'... Those items don't have a soul, no character and thus no sentimental attachment.
Glad you had a fine line of women in your family history that taught you early on how to value things.
By the way, my husband used to have a student from Malta at one of his short courses at his college... so it kind of brings us closer to you!
Congratulations for being able to publish your own magazine!

Sunny greetings from Georgia,
